President Barack Obama today made history by delivering a touching speech in Havana Cuba today 22nd March 2016, after the United States of America and Cuba both decided to abandon several years of diplomatic rife to work together for the common purpose of the people of both countries and economic growth.
In his speech Obama enjoined both countries to work together and make life better for their citizens. He said even though United States and Cuba are two different countries with different ideologies and systems. Cuba is a socialist country where the Government owns and controls everything, America is an open market society where the people interest comes first. Cuba is a one party state while America is a multi party system that practise democracy. Obama believes despite all these differences America and Cuba can find a common ground to make the two countries a better place for her people.
He said he has come to Cuba to bury the remnant of the cold war that has really torn the two nations apart for almost 60 years.The speech which was attended by Fidel Castro the former Cuban President and Raul Castrol who the former handed over to at the height of his health issues in 2008. Fidel Castro was Cuban Prime Minister from 1959 till 1976 and became President from 1976 to 2008.
Obama whose opening statement was about the coordinated terrorist attacks on Brussels today strongly condemned the attack and assured Belgian government of United States support and stand in solidarity with Belgium at this grieving time. He further said the attacks has made it more necessary for all the countries of the world to unite to fight terrorism and stamp it out of our society.
