Hulk Hogan Could Get Up To $460 Million As Damages For His Sex Tape Trials

Former World Wrestling Federation now WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan real name Terry Gene Bollea, better known by his ring name as Hulk Hogan, an American professional wrestler, is hoping  to get a bigger pay for his sex tape lawsuit against Gawker Media for unlawfully posting what Hulk Hogan called his extracurricular activities on their website. The media outfit reportedly got  a sex tape starring Hogan which he made in 2007, where he and a friend’s wife were caught on camera having sex.
The trial began earlier this March, after Hulk Hogan filed the lawsuit claiming that the release of the short video was an invasion of his privacy, consequently, the judge has ruled in Mr Hogan’s favour.

On March 18, just few weeks after the trial for Hogan’s sex tape lawsuit against Gawker started, the jury ruled that the media outlet was indeed guilty of violating Hogan’s privacy and did so maliciously. Hogan and team initially sued the media house for $100 million, but on Friday the judge ruled the wrestling star would get $115 million in compensation for damages.

According to reports, the jury will decide soon how much Gawker will pay Hulk Hogan for serious damages, which is meant to punish the defendant for intentional wrongdoing which could be as much as three times the amount of the $115 million compensatory damages he is already being awarded. In actual fact, Hogan could end up receiving up to $460 million dollars in damages. Gawker Media however is already planning to appeal the ruling.
