Photographer Sues Tuface And Wife For N120million Over Traditional Wedding Photos.

A foremost photographer Emmanuel Okolo  has sued Innocent Tuface Idibia and his wife Annie idibia to court over copyright infringement also sued alongside The Idibias is one Anthonio Anifite in a 120 million Naira law suit for making use of some of the photographs he took at their traditional wedding in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State in 2013 without duly giving him credit for his works or acknowledging him as against an alleged agreement between them prior to the wedding.

Okolo said the defendants inscribed Tufaceonline.com on 148 out of about 400 photographs  he took at their traditional wedding and uploaded same on Tuface official website, therefore going against their agreement to give him credits for the work he did for them and denying him of referral opportunities.

The photographer claimed he Annie Idibia called him few days after the wedding requesting for copies of the photographs he took to hem and after Annie saw the pictures she complained about his company watermark appearing on the pictures. according to Emmanuel Annie sent Anifite to negotiate with him on the conditions that the pictures should be released without his watermark trademark. Based on the agreement that whenever and wherever the photographs were to be used the copyright would be credited to the company and he then released the 355 photographs without watermark to Anifite free of charge.

Okolo said however claimed Tuface and wife breached the terms of the signed agreement and went ahead to write 2faceonline.com on 148 of the 355 photographs he sent to them and then uploaded them on the website. Okolo said is a certified film maker from London Academy and a Master degree in Arts from Cardiff school of Creative and cultural industries  south wales in Uk maintained that he has sufeered general and huge damages for which he is requesting the Court to award 120 million Naira compensation from Tuface and Annie his wife.

Reacting to the development, Innocent Tuface Idibia and wife has not only asked the court to throw out the case but have also filed a counter-claim where they are demanding for N150 million Niara damages from him and his studio on the claim that Emmanuel Okolo crashed their wedding uninvited took pictures and circulated same for commercial gains without their consent.
