How The Nigeria Police Rescued The Three Kidnapped Lagos School Girls

Few hours after the three abducted girls of Babington Macaulay Juniors seminary (BMJS) Ikorodu Lagos were rescued by the Nigerian Police, one of the kidnap kingpin Emmanuel Arigidi in a short interview with newsmen after he was arrested said they neither raped nor harmed the girls. He further said they chose to carry out the abduction at the school after they parked their seven canoes at the edge of Adamo creeks around the school and also escaped from the school using the canoessince the water was too shallow for their boats to ply on.

Emmanuel who has now been  taken to the Lagos State Police Command by the officer-in-charge of the Inspecor General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team ( SIRT),  ACP Abba Kyari. The Inspector General of Police had on Thursday deployed the special intelligence team from Abuja to assist the Lagos State Command.
Addressing newsmen on how the female students were released, a senior Police officer who spoke on anonymity, said Arigidi was arrested from Adamo Creeks after he had come out of their hiding to buy food for the girls and his gangs. Having infiltrated the gang and mopped up their parents in a bid to force the hand of the kidnappers. the address to the location of the kidnappers was obtained and traced to their den. The parent of one of the suspect who was contacted was said to have called one of the kidnappers informing him of police presence and if they do not release the girls the police had stationed their helicopters for aerial bombardment of the areas.
On hearing that the suspects hurriedly took the girls to Igbo-Okuta Bridge, Imota a suburb of Ikorodu and dropped them there, called the Police anonymously of the location. Mr.Fatai Owoseni the Lagos State Police commissioner who was at Ikorodu at that time quickly stormed the area where the girls were abandoned and took them away for safety.
According to sources the girls have since been taken away by their respective parents to be taken care of, refreshed, medically and psychologically checked.
