The Nigeria Army has announced the rescue of another abducted Chibok girl yesterday 19th May, 2016. Army informed the public that the girl Serah Luka was rescued barely 24 hours after Amina Nkeki found with a four month old baby with a man who claims to be her husband and a Boko Haram member another chibok girl was found and rescued by the combined team of Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) and men of the Nigeria Army.
According to Army spokesman Usman Sani, he said around 11 am Thursday 19th May, 2016, troops and civilian vigilante group of Buratai village conducted clearance operations at Shettima Abih, Hing and Biladdili general area in Damboa Local Goverment Area of Borno state. Durinf the operations troop killed 35 Boko Haram terrorists and recovered arms, armunitions and other items. 97 women and Children held captive by the Boko Haram terrorists were also rescued during the operations.
In his statement, Colnel Usman Sani said.“We are glad to state that among those rescued is a girl believed to be one of the Chibok School girls that were abducted on 14th April 2014 by the Boko Haram terrorists at the Government Secondary School in Chibok where over 200 girls were abducted. Her name is Miss Serah Luka, who is number 157 on the list of the abducted school girls. She is believed to be the daughter of Pastor Luka. During debriefing and questioning, the girl revealed that she was a Junior Secondary School 1 student of the school at the time they were abducted in 2014.
She added further that she hails from Madagali, Adamawa State. She averred that she reported at the school barely two months and one week before her unfortunate abduction along with other girls numbering 278 while some escaped jumping off the truck they were conveyed in leaving 219 in the captive of the dreaded group over two years ago.
Serah said there are other three girls who fles from Shettima Aboh when the troop invaded the area earlier yesterday thursday which led to their rescue. She is presently receiving treatment and medical attention at the Medical facility of Abogo Larague Military Cantonment, Biu, Borno State.
In a related development, the first Chibok girl to be rescued on 18th May, Amina Nkeki was received yesterday at the presidential villa by President Muhammadu Buhari.
