Wales Makes History Defeats Belgium 3-1 Moves To Euro 2016 Semi Finals

The Welsh national team made an historic feat in international football at the on-going European Championship tournament Euro 2016 in France by defeating one of the heavy weights of world football the Fifth best team in the world Belgium by 3 goals to 1.  At the Stade Pierre-Mauroy . it’s a remarkable achievement for the Welsh team as this is their first time they will be competing at a big stage such as this.

The Belgium side led by the Chelsea play maker Eden Hazard took the lead in the 13 minutes into the game with a wonderful goal from Radja Nainggolan assisted by Eden Hazard himself. About 17 minutes later on the 30th minute of the game, Ashley Williams scored with a sublime header from a Aaron Ramsey corner kick which the Swansea Football Club and Wales captain headed into the back of the net. Wales took the lead with a sensational individual spectacular goal from Hal Robson-Kanu once again he was assisted by Aaron Ramsey on the 55th minute of the game. The Welsh third goal was scored by Sam Vokes who had just come on less than 5 minutes before scoring the clinically superb header with a cross from Chris Gunter.

The result means Wales will face Portugal in the semis on Wednesday 6th July at the Stade de Lyon. It will definitely be a cracker bearing in mind the two top players in both teams play in the same club side Real Madrid CF Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.  It is often rumoured that both players don’t see eye-to eye at the club over superiority and class between the duo.  One thing is certain on Wednesday night some great individual performances is expected even though Wales star player and highest assist provider Aaron Ramsey misses out on the game having gotten two yellow cards in the course of the tournament.

There is no gain saying that the on-going Euro 2016 in France has produced some great moments and performances from the unlikely Iceland a country of about 300,000 people eliminated England with all the array of stars they paraded at the quarter finals in a fashionable way. Players like Dimitri Payet of France who has scored one of the best goals so far in the tournament to Antoinne Griezman’s two classic goals against Ireland having come from behind to defeat Irish team. So far 85 goals has been scored in 10 venues with 45 games played.
