The Dallas shooter had
earlier before the attack on law enforcement officers on Thursday told his
friend Israel Cooper that the White officers killing African Americans are
nothing but Genocide and was said to have been very upset with killing of Blacks
in America. He said white cops are just slaying black people, basically
genocide. He said, “this is getting out of hand'." Cooper told police.Micah Xavier Johnson was a war veteran and has served in Afghanistan for 9 months. He was alleged to have been dismissed and sent home on allegations of sexual assault on a female officer. Micah Johnson’s ambush appeared carefully planned and executed. It was revealed that the gunman was upset about Black lives matter - a protest movement which emerged in response to outcry following fatal police shootings of black men last year after the killing of Travon Martin.

close friends said he was not affiliated with any organised groups but told police
negotiators during the long negotiation
during the shoot out he intended to hurt more white police officers.
Johnson is not thought to have any known criminal history or ties to terror
groups. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who
had served a tour in Afghanistan and lived in the Dallas area and has
family members living in Mesquite, Texas, east of Dallas.Police said were questioning two occupants of a Mercedes they had pulled over after the vehicle sped off on a downtown street with a man who threw a camouflaged bag inside the back of the car. One woman was taken into custody in the parking garage where the standoff occurred. Ongoing investigations revealed Micah Johnson openly support the new Black Panthers Party and The African American Defense League the Huey P. Newton, The black Riders Liberation Party by liking them on his Facebook page.
During the overnight shootout, the suspect reportedly told police "the end is coming" and that more police were going to be hurt and killed. The suspect also told police "there are bombs all over the place in this garage and downtown". The search for the shooters stretched throughout downtown, an area of hotels, restaurants, businesses and some residential apartments. The area is only a few blocks away from Dealey Plaza, where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. Some of the injured officers were taken to Parkland Hospital for several wounds.

Police authorities have not determined whether any protesters were involved with or were accomplice in the attack and were not certain early Friday that all suspects have been located, but Police chief Brown told how the shooter triangulated in the downtown area where the protesters were marching and had some knowledge of the route they would take.
