Fayose, Aluko Meeting Was Not Stage Managed Ex Ekiti Speaker.

Following recent denial of a peace and reconciliation meeting involving former People Democratic Party PDP secretary Mr Tope Aluko and Ekiti state Governor Mr Ayodele Fayose over the weekend. The immediate past speaker of the State House Assembly Hon. Dele Olugbemi has debunked the recent denial of the ex PDP secretary Mr Tope Aluko of being coaxed into taking part in a stage managed reconciliation meeting alleged to have been masterminded by Gov. Fayose.

Dele Olugbemi who narrated how he planned the reconciliation in which Tope Aluko actively participated and how both of them prostrated to Fayose to forgive and forget all the allegations Aluko levied against the governor. He further explained that the meeting was scheduled to hold at the government house Ado ekiti but was changed to lagos on Tope Aluko's request of been afraid of his arrest if the meeting takes place in Ado Ekiti.  Fayose later agreed to meet with them at his Magodo Lagos residence to allays Mr Aluko's fear of arrest. Again Aluko suggest the meeting should take place at a neutral venue hence the governors choice of Eko Hotel in Victoria Island Lagos.
At the meeting which took place late at night on sunday 3rd March, Dele Olugbemi said he and Tope Aluko prostrated to Fayose three times and begged him to forgive Aluko for all his wrongdoings and allegations against the governor. According to him Tope Aluko said "you are my egbon Father and mentor in politics and sorry for all I ve done and I need your forgiveness" it was alleged to have told by the governor that at 50 years of age he shouldnt ve allowed himself to be used by the APC to destabilize him and his work for the PDP in the state. Fayose said in the meeting he does not trust Aluko and that he could step out of the meeting and change his statements that he never begged on that note the governor said there must be a press conference in which Tope Aluko will address the press telling them he has reconciled with him and that this time he is back at the PDP fold. According to reports Aluko refused to get involved at first but later agreed to take part in the press briefing.
Mr Olugbemi said its a lie that Aluko told press men two days after the meeting that Gov. Fayose stage managed the re conciliatory meeting between him and Tope Aluko. He said Tope Aluko is a liar and changes his words every now and then. Aluko promised the Governor he would dismantle all the structure he had put in place to attack the Governor. The Governor said he had forgiven him totally and that he should go and sin no more. The governor told Aluko that he would call soon and that he would need to study him (Aluko) very well within two weeks because he could go out of the meeting and say something different.
“The Governor also said it was better to let the press know that he had reconciled with Aluko to which he initially disagreed and later agreed to meet the press with the Governor, and myself, which we did and the video recording is everywhere for the public to see.On Tuesday April 5, 2016, Aluko called and sent a text message to me(Olugbemi) that things were falling apart as the party, and aide of the governor were attacking him. That he would renege on his promise. I advised him not to take any negative action or talk to the press if he wanted his already battered image to be rebuilt.
Unfortunately, he did not listen to my advice and having come to deny what he willingly took part in, I have no option than to let the public know the true story.”
