The House of Representative Leader and a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress APC Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila has described the Ekiti state governor Mr Ayo Fayose as a meddlesome individual who delved into the affairs of the Federal government of nigeria by writing the Chinese President Xin Ping not to grant Nigeria the agreed loan of $2billion recently reached during the President Muhammadu Buhari visit to China last week.
Mr Gbajabiamila who stated this in a letter he personally wrote to the Chinese president yesterday in which he urged the president to ignore Fayose's letter if the letter ever got to him. He pointed out that Fayose's action is tantamount to sabotage irresponsible and total lack of respect for the constitution of Nigeria in which the Ekiti state governor sworn to uphold to defend the interest of the Nation at all times.
According to Hon. Gbajabiamila, Nigeria’s principle of the separation of powers between the Federal, state and local government, has made Fayose’s action a clear affront on the constitution, by delving into matters outside his state, going against the interest of the country especially as it concerns international agreements between two sovereign nations.
In his own reaction to Governor Fayose's letter to Chinese Presidemt, former governor of Ekiti state and Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress APC Engr. Segun Oni said the Ekiti state governor need spiritual deliverance and psychological examination. He said the governor's action did not come as a surprise to him as he has further proved his mentally imbalance and unfit to hold an exalted position like a state governor. He also urged the Chinese President to disregard his letter in which he accused the Nigerian government of already using 25% of its annual budget to service debt as such nigeria should not be granted any loan by the Chinese government.
Despite the president's special assistant on media and publicity denial of any $2b loan from the China trip of President Buhari last week, there has been a lot of reactions trailing the visit of the President. According to Garba Shehu, Presidential spokesman the trip will fetch Nigeria about $6billion in investment as a result of several deals and agreement reached with Chinese government and businessmen.
